We both have a different approach to organization, which makes us an effective team.
We're a husband-and-wife team dedicated to helping you create a space you can feel relaxed and stress-free in. Though we each have different approaches to organization, our diversity sets us above the rest. Jen has a natural flair for organization and delights in Zen simplicity. Pierre is an ex-packrat who understands the pain of disorganization from the inside out and the peace of mind that comes from changing those habits.
As a couple, we had conflicts over clutter but learned to forge creative compromises and can do the same for you.
Jen
My family moved every year for the first 8 years of my life, so we needed to be able to pack up quickly and move in our VW bus. I often fantasized about having a "normal" home, one with a couch and coffee table in which I didn't feel embarrassed to have friends over. My childhood gave me a minimalist streak but also made me long for the comfort and beauty of possessions. For 25 years Pierre and I were house painters, muralists and color consultants. I honed my skills further by taking interior design classes at Rhode Island School of Design (RISD). As someone sensitive to over-stimulation in my environment, I'm very aware of visual "noise" and strive to create an environment where clients can have ease of movement and functionality while not sacrificing comfort and personality.
Pierre
I have a creative, theatrical soul, which led to a career in children's and family theatre for 15 years as a successful mime and clown, performing in schools and some well known NYC venues like Lincoln Center and Macy's. Looking for a career change, I met Jen and we embarked on a 25 year career as muralists and decorative painters, calling ourselves Evergreenstreetstudios.com. We learned to enter people's homes and offer suggestions with a light, flexible touch, often helping settle design and color disputes between couples. Along the way, I was inspired to become a personal organizer. I know the pain and chaos of being mired in stuff from the inside out. I also understand how, to a packrat, giving up one seemingly insignificant thing can be traumatic so one has to process over-attachment gingerly. My perspective has been a great complimentary mindset to Jen's natural minimalism and innate drive towards order.
